Mallika Srinivasan

Srinivasan is director of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, TAFE.

A graduate of the Wharton Business School, she was born into a southern business family -- the Amalgamations Group -- and married into another, the TVS Group. Her husband is automobile tycoon Venu Srinivasan, chairman and managing director, TVS Motors.

TAFE is a unit of the Amalgamations Group, which has interests in tractors and related farm machinery, diesel engines, automobile components, lubricants, and paints.

She joined TAFE as a general manager in 1986, and has since steered the company, taking its revenues from Rs 85 crore (Rs 850 million) to over Rs 3,000 crore (Rs 30 billion).

Among other awards, she was also named the Economic Times Businesswoman of the Year Award for 2006.
