India captain Rahul Dravid said Friday's rout of hosts West Indies in a warm-up match had given his team the perfect pre-tournament morale boost.

Munaf Patel took four for 10, while left-armer Irfan Pathan took three for 25 as the Indians skittled West Indies out for 85 and then Dravid's men comfortably knocked off the target with the loss of just one wicket.

"It was a very good day and we can take a lot of confidence out of what was a very professional and clinical performance," Dravid told reporters.

"We were playing against the West Indies in their own conditions and so we can take a lot of confidence and build upon that."

Dravid said there had been a number of key elements behind the impressive display from his side.

"The bowlers bowled really well, we took good catches and obviously there were some not good shots," he said adding that he is particularly pleased with the contribution of his seam bowlers.

"The fast bowling will be very critical for us in this World Cup if they can get us the early breakthroughs," he said.

Former skipper and opener Sourav Ganguly was withdrawn from the field after 13 overs to protect an ankle injury and did not bat but Dravid said there is no risk of the left-hander missing the opening World Cup encounter against Bangladesh on March 17.

"He has a slight niggle, a bit of a sore ankle. With 13 players we had the advantage of being able to bat someone who didn't need to field and so we took advantage of that.

"With a couple of days rest he should be ok," added Dravid.
