Outgoing coach of the Indian cricket team, Greg Chappell, was taken to a city hospital on Saturday for a routine checkup.
Chappell, who was to leave tonight with his wife for Singapore, was taken to the Bombay Hospital in South Mumbai.
He was brought to the hospital by Dr Ashok Kriplani for a checkup, a spokesperson for the hospital said.
Kriplani told PTI that Chappell had sent a message for mediapersons through him stating that, "I came for a routine checkup and am fine."
Dr Ashishkumar Tiwari, spokesperson of Bombay Hospital, told reporters that Chappell had been brought to the hospital "for a checkup" and he had not been admitted.
"He was brought to the hospital and has been receiving a checkup at the hospital. He has not been admitted and there is presently no cause for concern," Tiwari said.
Tiwari said that some medical tests were conducted on Chappell, after which he would leave the hospital, and the reports would be available by this evening.
Chappell underwent body profile tests including renal, liver, lipid and blood profiles, Tiwari told PTI.
"Dr Kriplani will examine the reports and then decide whether Chappell is fit enough to fly out of the city," Tiwari said.
