Resolve differences through dialogue: Britain

H S Rao in London External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh was on Tuesday told by British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw that Britain would like both India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through dialogue.

Singh was in London to attend a meeting of the Commonwealth Committee on Terrorism.

Meanwhile, National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra, who arrived in Paris as part of the ongoing strategic dialogue between India and France, said on Tuesday that New Delhi would not change its position on Islamabad 's support for cross-border terrorism.

India is waiting for something 'visible' on Pakistan ending cross-border terrorism before there could be any de-escalation of the situation on the Indo-Pak border, even as the two countries were urged to resolve their differences through dialogue.

Mishra, who is due to meet French President Jacques Chirac, said India welcomed Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's speech on January 12.
