Osama safe, planning attacks: Report

Terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden is "safe and well" and planning new attacks, a report said on Tuesday.

The Qai'dat al-Jihad, an Islamic group linked to bin Laden's Al Qaeda outfit, sent a letter to Arabic newspaper Al Hayat making such claims, ANSA news agency said.

"Al Qaida's leader has gone abroad safely. Bin Laden is safe and well. He is preparing to work with his brothers," the letter said.

The letter, addressed "to our Islamic state and to the heroic Palestinian people", said: "God has given permission to resume activities."

The newspaper said it received the letter, dated March 26, on Monday. The Al Hayat, based in Lebanon and printed in London, circulates throughout West Asia.
