Life across Kashmir Valley remained disrupted for the fifth day on Friday due to a strike called by Grand Mufti of the state over gutting of the 200-year-old Dastageer Sahib shrine even as restrictions continued on movement of people in the old city.
In Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir, however, Eid will be celebrated on Wednesday.
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Sunday criticised Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Bashiruddin Ahmad saying the video showing him enjoying music had exposed his "double speak".
Schools, colleges, offices, shops and other commercial establishments remained closed in response to the strike called by Grand Mufti Mohammad Bashiruddin Ahmad, who termed the destruction of the shrine as the "worst conspiracy".
