Pranav Dhanawade, a school cricketer from Kalyan - on the outskirts of Mumbai, has scripted history by becoming the first batsman to score more than 1,000 runs in an innings.
Mumbai schoolboy Pranav Dhanawade etched his name in the annuls of local cricketing history when he scored a staggering unbeaten 652 runs from just 199 balls in an inter-school cricket tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association on Monday.
Prashant Dhanawade was lost for words initially when asked about his son Pranav's record-breaking cricketing feat. The 15-year-old became the first batsman to aggregate more than 1,000 runs in an innings in any format of the game when he scored 1009 runs for Smt. KC Gandhi School (Kalyan) against Arya Gurukul School in the HT Bhandari Cup inter-school cricket tournament, organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association.
Immediately after entering the record books Dhanawade's heroics were lauded by none other than batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
Pranav Dhanawade, the 16-year-old wonder boy, who became the first batsman in the world to score 1000 runs in one innings, has once again made it to the headlines after being detained for a slight delay in vacating the ground he had been practicing on for years.
