The Washington Post Guild, the union for staff members, had appealed to the public to send a message to Bezos: "Enough is enough. Without the staff of The Washington Post, there is no Washington Post."
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor sustained a foot fracture after he slipped on the stairs while coming out of Parliament on Wednesday.
"I'm very glad you raised this, Ishaan. I didn't plant it. I promise you. This guy does this to his dad," Tharoor replied amid laughter from the audience.
Ishaan Tharoor, the journalist son of Union minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, has joined the Washington Post, the major US daily said on Tuesday.
