Venus made a strong start in her quest for a sixth Wimbledon title as he swept past Amanmuradova 6-3, 6-1.
The American, seeded only 23rd after spending most of the year out injured, however failed to fire in the fourth-round clash and was hammered 6-2, 6-3 Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova.

Kubler survives scare

When two legends met

The two sporting legends then showered rich praise on each other.
"Spent an hour with Roger Federer chatting on the balcony of Wimbledon Royal box. What a humble guy! And by the way he knows a lot about cricket!!," Tendulkar said on Twitter.
"Today was a special day, played a good match and had the chance to catch up with the great indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar," Federer said on his Facebook page.
