Mary Kom pledges to win Olympic gold medal

London Olympics bronze medal-winning woman pugilist M C Mary Kom yearns to achieve the impossible.

Though age may not be on her side, her determination knows no bounds.

The mother of three has expressed confidence of winning a gold medal in the 2016 Olympics in Rio and says she will start regular training in six months.

"I am confident that I will clinch a gold medal in the 2016 Olympics," the boxer declared on arriving in Bhopal on Tuesday.

Mary Kom will be felicitated along with former volleyball player Ram Lal Verma and 25 other sportsmen later on Wednesday evening.

The state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will present her a cheque of Rs 50 lakh.
