"Obviously I am disappointed, but such is life," Bindra said in an interaction at Games Village before leaving for India.

"Let us face it, you can't win all the time, but there is no shame in not getting what you want as long as you give your best to achieve that," he added.

Stating that "failure is a part of life", Bindra said, "I could have taken easy way out. That is, if I had retired after Beijing. I was on high but I decided to continue."

"Sports teaches you many things in life. There are highs and lows in life. But I won't consider it as low because I tried my best."

Bindra asserted that he was always willing to talk to the media but there should be something to talk about.

"There has to be something to be answered, some queries to be replied. I don't like to talk just for the sake of talking," insisted the 28-year-old.

The shooter is the first Indian sportsperson to leave for home after finishing his assignment.

"There is no use my wasting time here. I finished my event so I am leaving. I have been away from home for long. So I am going back," said Bindra.
