Coach Raymond Domenech selected captain Zinedine Zidane on Thursday for France's final two World Cup qualifiers next month despite a groin injury sustained in the 1-0 win over Ireland.

Striker David Trezeguet has also been recalled after serving a two-match ban following a red card in the 1-1 draw with Israel in March.

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, who has a recurrent groin injury, has been replaced by Peguy Luyindula of AJ Auxerre, who last played for France in the 2-0 away victory of Cyprus in October last year.

Domenech said he hoped Real Madrid's Zidane would be fit in time for the matches in Switzerland on October 8 and at home against Cyprus four days later. Switzerland and France top Group 4 with 16 points from eight games.

"Zidane resumed training normally. I'm not worried about him but I'm still careful. There is still a league match to play on Sunday and you never know what can happen," Domenech told a news conference.
