India's Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna breezed into the quarter-finals and pre-quarter-finals of the men's and mixed doubles respectively at Wimbledon on Monday.

The fourth seeded pair of Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek knocked out the Polish duo Lukasz Kubot and Marcin Matkowski 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in the third round of the men's doubles.

Bopanna paired up with China’s Jie Zheng to post a 7-6(8-6), 7-5 win over Robert Farah of Columbia and Darija Jurak of Croatia in the second round of the mixed doubles.

Radek Stepanek and Leander PaesWhile Paes-Stepanek needed an hour and 51 minutes to get the better of their Polish opponents, Bopanna-Zheng won in 85 minutes.

Paes-Stepanek had 19 winners to their opponents' eight while the Bopanna-Zheng had 17 to their opponents' six.

Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi had earlier on Monday progressed to the quarter-finals of the men's doubles with their respective partners even as Sania crashed out of the women's doubles.

Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France stunned the third seeded pair of Alexander Peya-Bruno Soares, while Bhupathi-Julian Knowle defeated the Canadian combination of Jesse Levine-Vasek Pospisil.

However, there was bad news on the Indian challenge in the women's doubles as Sania Mirza and Liezel Huber exited in the third round.

The sixth seeded Indo-American pair was shocked 2-6, 6-3, 2-6 by the unseeded Japanese-South African combination of Shuko Aoyama and Chanelle Scheepers.
