Having started the year in the 129th position, the Sunil Chhetri-led team end the year at 105th spot in the FIFA rankings
The Indian men's football ended the year at 105th spot in the FIFA rankings, unchanged from last month.
According to a release sent out on Thursday, the team, which did not play any international match in this ranking period, has 320 points to its kitty.
India began the year at 129th spot and broke into the top 100 when it climbed the 96th spot in July – this was India’s second best ever ranking position after being 94th in February 1996.
Among Asian countries, India is in the 15th spot, just below Qatar, but ahead of the likes of Jordan, Bahrain and North Korea.
Iran (overall 32nd) leads the rankings among Asian countries, followed by Australia (38th) and Japan (57th).
World champions Germany ended on top to be FIFA's 'Team of the Year', followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France and Chile.
