Serena Williams destroyed Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 6-4 in the US Open semi-finals on Saturday to join Australia's Sam Stosur in the final at Flushing Meadows.
Williams, in the early stages of a comeback from a series of health problems that kept her out of the game for almost a year, showed why she remains the most powerful and feared player in the women's game as she ruthlessly disposed of the world number one.

Despite her lack of match practice and needing treatment for a bloodied foot, the American was never in any danger of losing to Wozniacki, closing out the match just before midnight.
Williams has already won the US Open three times but her victory ensured the host nation will be represented in an emotion-charged final on Sunday, which marks the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Stosur earlier earned her place in the championship decider with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win over unseeded German Angelique Kerber.
