Here's everything you need to know about former Chelsea manager Mourinho
The embattled manager was axed from Chelsea on Thursday after the club incurred nine defeats in their last 16 Premier League games, which placed the defending champions just one point above the relegation zone.
Chelsea had cited 'palpable discord between manager and players' as the reason behind the dismissal of Mourinho
There were speculations that Madrid current coach Rafael Benitez could also lose his job in case the club suffered one more defeat.
But Perez backed the current manager, saying that it was Benitez and not Mourinho who could solve the problem of Madrid.
Mourinho, who served as Madrid's manager from 2010 to 2013 before joining Chelsea, left the Spanish club during a dressing room unrest led by current captain Sergio Ramos.
Since then, Madrid failed to claim victory in the league and currently they trail by five points from leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the title race.
