Vishnuvardhan wins Junior National Tennis

Local boy K Vishnuvardhan defeated third seed Aditya Madkekar of Maharashtra 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the Junior National Tennis title at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday.

Poonam Reddy (Andhra Pradesh) beat Meghana 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to win the girls' crown.

Sania Mirza figured in the winning combination of girls doubles and mixed doubles.

Sania paired with Poonam Reddy to defeat K Pooja and Urmila Ram 6-0, 6-1 and then trounced K Pooja and Anshuman Datta 6-2, 6-2 in the mixed doubles in the company of P Vikas.

In the boy's doubles, Rupesh Roy and Anshuman Datta beat Siddarth Gulati and Jitin Bishnoi 6-2, 6-2.
