Somdev Devvarman rose a rung to 84 while out of action Sania Mirza was static on number 88 in the latest tennis rankings.

Somdev, who has been going through a poor patch, lost in the first round of the ATP Shanghai Masters on Monday.

In the doubles ATP chart, there was no change in the rankings of Mahesh Bhupathi (6) and Leander Paes (8) but Rohan Bopanna slipped one place to the 16th spot.

Paes and Bhupathi remained at No 4 while the Bopanna-Aisam pair remained stagnant on No 7.

There was no change in the doubles ranking of Sania (11) but her team with Elena Vesnina is now standing at six in the WTA race to year-end championship.

Since Sania will be out of action for days because of an arthroscopic surgery, she and Vesnina may miss the cut for year-end championship.

Only top four teams compete in the event and the points gap is increasing between Sania-Vesnina (4788 points) and other teams.

Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova and America's Vania    King are at No 4 four with 5530 points while following them are Russian Maria Kirilenko and Belarus' Victoria Azarenka, who have 5490 points.
