The duo, along with a few volunteers, and sweepers of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), joined forces to clean up parts of Bandra Fort in Western Mumbai.

In another post he wrote: “While cleaning up, realised once again that in terms of garbage, plastic and thermocol pose the biggest problems for Mumbai. It’s up to us to keep our city clean. Not littering and segregating garbage are solutions to keeping the city clean. I am grateful to @sachin_rt for joining me in this effort."

After doing his bit, Tendulkar had a few words of advice for his fans and followers in a video tweet: "We each have to do our bit to keep #IndiaClean. So, pick a group of friends, a street, and together let’s #CleanUp India. #SwachhataHiSeva."

India is celebrating Swachh Bharat week, which started on Monday, leading up to Swachh Bharat Divas that will be celebrated on October 2.
