Actress Katrina Kaif wanted to participate in her first-ever Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, on Sunday, but things don’t go as planned.

Her fitness trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala, revealed, “In spite of trying really hard, Katrina's ongoing hip injury will not allow her to run this year. We'll be back next year.”
But Katrina did not disappoint her fans and did make her presence felt as she was seen alongside 200 community members from Swades Foundation. Swades is the brainchild of Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala, the co-founders of UTV and dreams of empowering one million lives every five years, lifting them out of poverty by addressing education, sanitation and healthcare.
Actor John Abraham was also seen with Pro Kabaddi League team UMumba’s top players. The players took to the streets of the city for a Dream Run support Swades.
Actress and television host Maria Goretti completed her first half marathon. Known for her chirpy style of veejaying, the mother of two tweeted, “And I'm ecstatic… I finished my first Half-Marathon.”
Mumbai-based jewellery designer Shaheen Abbas also ran her first half marathon. She wrote, “First half marathon done and dusted...made it in 2:38! Struggled, laughed, danced, ran and just did it.”
Actress Tara Sharma is SCMM regular.
Actor and sports personality Rahul Bose was seen at the starting line, all set for the Dream Run.
Saala Khadoos star R Madhavan and Gulshan Grover flagged off the senior citizens marathon.
