Hyderabad FC, Hero India Super League's newest entrant, on Sunday unveiled new jersey for the 2019-20 season.

The event was graced by prominent Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati along with co-owners of Hyderabad FC, Varun Tripuneni and Vijay Madduri, head coach Phil Brown and the players.

The jersey sports a contemporary look and is inspired by the traditional Nizami Sherwani and the city's architecture.

Along with the new jersey, the club also introduced the Hyderabad FC team, which will be representing the city in the ISL.

Speaking on the occasion, Tripuraneni said, "We are very excited to unveil our new jersey that represents the rich culture of the city. The team is all geared up to hit the field and face challenges like true sportsmen.

"With the club in place, we look forward to building a concrete path for development and uplift the sports culture of the city."

Arsenal thrash Brighton 4-0 to go top of WSL

Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema notched up a goal and two assists as Arsenal thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 to go top of the FA Women's Super League on a rainy Sunday that featured some spectacular goals and a postponement due to a waterlogged pitch.

Miedema teed up Kim Little for the opener in the ninth minute and rifled home herself just before halftime. She then set up compatriot Danielle van de Donk for the third goal in the second half before Jordan Nobbs completed the rout.

Having started the season with three straight victories, champions Arsenal now top the table on goal difference from Manchester City, who edged past Everton 1-0 thanks to an early goal from England international Steph Houghton.

With heavy rain falling across England, Birmingham City's home game against Reading was cancelled following a morning inspection due to a waterlogged pitch.

However, the bad weather did not stop more than 24,000 fans turning up at the London Stadium to see visitors Tottenham Hotspur beat West Ham 2-0 thanks to a brilliant header from Rianna Dean and a late Lucy Quinn strike.

Norwegian winger Guro Reiten opened her goal-scoring account for Chelsea with two goals in the first 10 minutes as the Londoners hammered Bristol City 4-0, with Ji So-Yun and Sophie Ingle also getting on the scoresheet.

On Saturday newly-promoted Manchester United claimed their first-ever win in the WSL with a gritty 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool report Man United to FA for offensive chants in WSL match: report

(Reuters) - The English Football Association is to investigate complaints about offensive chants that were made during Manchester United's Women's Super League clash against Liverpool at Leigh Sports Village.

British media reported that Liverpool flagged up the chants from a section of United home fans in a post-match report to the FA on Saturday.

The FA said it was aware of the situation and looking into the matter.

There were concerns over the "always the victims, it's never your fault" chant – an offensive reference to the Hillsborough disaster -- and other anti-Scouse chants and songs relating to "rats" and "robbers".

Around 2,800 fans were present for the first WSL meeting between the two clubs, with United winning 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Lauren James and Katie Zelem.

When asked about the chants, Liverpool manager Vicky Jepson said her players were prepared for a hostile reception.

"These chants about Scousers robbing and stuff – bring it on," Liverpool manager Vicky Jepson told reporters. "We prepared for that.

"They're notorious for their chanting but it didn't bother me. My players and my staff were ready for that, so when they were shouting my name and shouting stuff, I just smiled. The main thing is that we came here to compete."

Ninety-six people died in a crush on April 15, 1989 at an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough Stadium, one of the darkest days in the history of English soccer.

"The club have been made aware of reports of inappropriate chanting at yesterday's game and are looking into this," a United spokeswoman said in a statement.

India U-18 claim maiden SAFF title

The Indian football team lifted the SAFF U-18 Championship for the first time when they defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the title clash in New Delhi on Sunday.

India surged ahead as early as the 2nd minute when Vikram Partap Singh sped past his marker and banged it in. The match-winner came in injury time when the nippy Ravi Bahadur Rana scored off a screamer from about 30 yards.

Yeasin Arafat reduced the margin for Bangladesh in the 40th minute.

"I had maintained that it will take a moment of brilliance to end this SAFF Championship, and it was fitting that Ravi finished if off with a wonderful strike," head coach Floyd Pinto stated moments after the final whistle.

"We were not just the best footballing team in the tournament, but also the most effective team. I am really happy for the boys. They earned it," he added.

"The sacrifices, and the commitment of the boys was exemplary."

India's Ninthoinganba Meetei was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Praful Patel congratulated the team.

"The team improved with every match. It's double delight for Indian youth teams especially after the U-16 qualified to AFC Championships last week. Keep it up," Patel said.

General secretary Kushal Das said: "The SAFF U-18 Championship had been eluding us. Congratulations to everyone. This triumph will add confidence prior to the AFC U-19 Qualifiers in November which is the ultimate test."

The victory makes it sweeter with the U-15 national team having lifted the SAFF U-15 Championship beating Bangladesh in the final in August 2019.

While the U-16 team went on to qualify for the AFC U-16 Championships, the U-19 team will play the AFC Qualifiers in November in its quest to qualify for the AFC Finals.

"This is going to give us a huge boost for the AFC Championship, and make us more confident as we prepare for it. Hopefully, we will be able to kick-off AFC Qualifiers in a good manner," Floyd said.

"I am very thankful to AIFF and SAI for their help in the exposure tours all throughout, and look forward to their support."

Meanwhile both teams were reduced to 10-men each in the 22nd minute when Gurkirat Singh and Md Fahim were given marching orders following a tiff. Bangladesh were further reduced to nine men in the 40th minute when their skipper Yeasin was booked for a second yellow card for "illegitimate celebration" following the equaliser.

Defoe involved in car crash but not seriously injured

English footballer Jermain Defoe was involved in a car crash after Scottish side Rangers' win against Aberdeen at Ibrox on Saturday but was not seriously injured in the collision, the club confirmed.

"#RangersFC can confirm there was a collision earlier this evening involving striker @IAmJermainDefoe and we are happy and relieved to say that no one was seriously injured," the club said https://twitter.com/RangersFC/status/1178030797820960769 in a tweet.

Defoe came in as a substitute and scored as Rangers beat Aberdeen 5-0.

City need to spend in January to compete for titles: Neville

Manchester City will need to loosen their purse strings and sign players in the January transfer window if they are to compete for titles this season, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has said.

Manager Pep Guardiola has been left with depleted options in defence after Vincent Kompany moved to Anderlecht while Aymeric Laporte and John Stones have been injured, forcing the Spaniard to start defensive midfielder Fernandinho alongside Nicolas Otamendi at the back.

The makeshift defensive line-up came through with a victory against Everton on Saturday, but not before giving away a goal due to a defensive mix up while also conceding eight shots on target.

Guardiola had said prior to the game that City could not afford reinforcements in January, despite spending less than rivals in the summer transfer window.

"You have to think that City will spend in January," Neville told Sky Sports.

"I saw this morning that Guardiola said they didn't have any money. Well, they've got more than everybody else.

"They bought Aymeric Laporte in January a year and a half ago, and I feel that they're going to have to do the same again.

"This won't be good enough for the Champions League or the Premier League. Guardiola will know it - he knows the standard more than anybody."

Guardiola had also vowed to stick with youngsters Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Eric Garcia - both of whom started and helped keep a clean sheet in City's third-round victory over Preston in the League Cup.

"They've set limits, and perhaps it's not so much the fee, but the wages that will be demanded to attract the right type of player, which is making the Manchester City hierarchy nervous and stay within a structure," Neville said.

"But with Vincent Kompany going, it leaves a huge void, not just on the pitch but off it. There aren't too many players like him around, and he's difficult to replace."

City are currently second in the Premier League, trailing Liverpool by five points.
