Bolt reportedly made the unflattering remarks on Tuesday outside the athletes' village after having just met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry during their visit.
The Royal trio and the Jamaican sprint star had chatted and posed for photographs as hundreds of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the visitors, The Mirror reported.
Bolt, who is due to run in the 4x400m relay this weekend, reportedly made less than flattering remarks about the Games as he prepared to leave the village. He said that the Commonwealth Games were 'a bit s***' before he left the site to 'do some business'.
A spokesman for the Commonwealth Games Federation has been quoted as saying that Bolt, who is the World's fastest man, must be having an off day.
The organisers of the Games have been hailed it as a great success after it sold 1.2 million tickets, making it the most successful sporting event Scotland has held.
