Kinky boots: Kylie Minogue takes Glasgow by storm

The crowd was left mesmerised by pop icon Kylie Minogue's performance at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which formally concluded with a spectacular show at Hampden Park, in Glasgow, on Sunday.

More than 2,000 performers, including Australian singer Minogue, Scottish singer Lulu and Scottish pop band Deacon Blue, brought the curtain down on what has been praised as the 'best Games ever'.

The celebrations came to an end with a finale of fireworks.

After English television presenter Gabby Logan remarked that Glasgow 2014 did not need Usain Bolt or Yohan Blake to have a good time, Bolt returned the favour by furnishing a sassy retort.

While lauding Jamaica's victory in the 4x100 relay race in Glasgow, Logan had remarked earlier that nobody had even mentioned Bolt or Blake words.

She only asked who needed them to have a good party there?

The world's fastest man delivered his reply the next day after he helped his country to register an entry into the event.

Bolt began by repeating Logan's words, looked into the camera directly and said that he is a fun person who loves to have fun. He then got up and danced before the camera, smiled and went away, reported The Daily Star.

Logan then had to retract her statement by saying that one could only do OK without Bolt but now that he is here, one can obviously do better.

Praises have reportedly been heaped on the people of Glasgow, as well as volunteers, crowds and athletes after a 'fantastic' 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Team Scotland's boss said that the Scottish athletes had exceeded expectations and galvanised the country.

First Minister Alex Salmond also praised those who helped to deliver the best and friendliest Commonwealth Games ever.

Salmond said that tens of thousands of visitors had been made to feel at home during the Games, with Scotland extending the warmest of welcomes, The BBC reported.

Action will be taken against two Indian officials if reports of their misbehaviour on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are proved, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on Sunday.

Local media reported a top official of the Indian Olympic Association and a wrestling referee were arrested in Glasgow in separate incidents and would appear in court on Monday.

The IOA official has been charged with drink driving while the referee has been accused of assault, television channels said, adding the officials were not part of the Indian contingent in Glasgow.

"If whatever the media have reported so far is right, definitely our ministry will take appropriate action in this regard," Sports Minister Sonowal told reporters.

IOA president N Ramachandran said he is waiting for a detailed report before commenting on the issue.
