For sometime, Grand Slams have become synonymous with Serena's latest fashion statement.

The mother of one again made waves at the Australian Open when she appeared on court wearing a black-spotted lavender double frilly skirt, complete with matching shoes and a series of necklaces.

This isn't the first time Serena's outfit has drawn attention at a Grand Slam. Remember her French Open and US Open outfits last year?

Monday's opening day in Melbourne was no exception as the eighth seed took on Russian Anastasia Potapova. The 23-time Grand Slam champion slayed on court in more ways than one with that outfit and matching nail set.

Some viewers found parallels between the 38 year old's dress and what Pebbles Flintstone wears in the cartoon strips.

'Serena's outfit looks like a Pebbles Flintstone outfit, she also needs to lose some of those necklaces!' tweeted one observer.

Grigor Dimitrov

Grigor turned heads with his tennis, defeating Argentine Juan Ignacio Londero 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4 in the opening game at the Australian Open.

But it was the Bulgarian's colorful fashion choice that stole the show.

'I don't want to be vanilla,' Grigor said when asked about his choice of attire.

'I love being different,' he added.

Grigor entered the court in a quirky tracksuit. Designed by Nike, the deep purple tracksuit was covered in yellow spots and had a white trim around the collar.

'I love colors,' Grigor declared.

Eurosport UK hailed the tracksuit as the 'highlight of the Australian Open so far'.

Nike worked with Melbourne artist Cassie Byrnes to create the women's outfits in a pink, blue and yellow hand-painted watercolor print, which includes a a bold temperature-regulating bodysuit.
