India's Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis stormed into the US Open women's doubles final following a 6-4, 6-1 win over 11th seeded Italians Sara Errani and Flavia Pennetta in New York, on Wednesday night.

In the final, they will take on the winners of the second semi-final between fourth seeds Australia's Casey Dellacqua-Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and the unseeded German-American combine of Anna-Lena Groenefeld-Coco Vandeweghe.

Top seeds Sania and Hingis will be looking to win their second successive Grand Slam title, having triumphed at Wimbledon in July.

It turned out to be another easy victory for Sania and Hingis, who had got the better of ninth seeds Yung-Jan Chan and Hao-Ching Chan of Taipei 7-6(5), 6-1 in the quarter-finals.

There was disappointment though in the Junior Girls Singles category as Karman Kaur Thandi's winning run ended against Dalma Galfi in the third round. The 17-year-old Indian went down against the second-seeded German 6-4, 7-6.
