Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina crashed out of the Qatar Open, losing in straight sets to Vera Dushevina and Shahar Peer.

The second seed Indo-Russian pair was sent packing 4-6, 4-6 by their unseeded opponents in the second round, in 72 minutes.

Sania is not competing in the singles event of the tournament.

Last week, the Indian ace won the doubles title at the Pattaya Open with her Australian partner Anastasia Rodionova.

It was Sania's 13th WTA doubles title, the first this season.

Last season, she won three titles, two with Vesnina and one with Yaroslav Shvedova of Kazakhstan.
