Former US Open winner Samantha Stosur and her partner Liz welcomed their first child. Little Genevieve was born to Liz four weeks ago.
While sharing a picture of her new family, the 36-year-old Australian wrote on Instagram: “Life in lockdown during coronavirus has been challenging in many ways but personally it’s been one of the most exciting and happy times of my life."
Stosur won the 2011 US Open, and has been as high as No. 4 in singles. In doubles, Stosur has been ranked No. 1 and won three Grand Slam trophies, most recently at the 2019 Australian Open.
This season, she had recorded one win in four events before the suspension of play, though she still has a Top-100 ranking.
