ATHLETICS:

Women's 3000m steeplechase

Lalita Babar finished fourth in the qualifying Heat 2, clocking 9 minutes, 19.76 seconds and qualified for the final.

Sudha Singh placed 9th in Heat 2, clocking a poor 9:43.29s. She finished 30th overall.

Women's 100m semis: Dutee Chand finished seventh in Heat 5, covering the distance in 11.69 seconds.

Women's 400m preliminaries: Nirmala Sheoran finished 35th overall after ending up 6th out of 7 runners in Heat 1, in 53.03 seconds.

Men's 400m semis: Muhammad Anas finished 8th in Heat 7 with a timing of 45.95 seconds.

Long Jump qualification: Ankit Sharma could muster 7.67 metres in his third attempt and finished 12th overall in a field of 30.

BADMINTON:

 India's Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa in action

Women's doubles (group stage):  Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa lost their final Group A match against Thailand's Supajirakul Puttita and Taerattanachai Sapsiree 17-21, 15-21. They were out of the medal reckoning.

Men's doubles (group): Manu Attri and Sumith Reddy beat Japan’s Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa 23-21, 21-11. They were out of the medal reckoning.

GOLF: 

SSP Chawrasia and Anirban Lahiri were placed tied 22nd and joint 57th after posting two-under 69 and four-over 75 respectively in the third round.

HOCKEY:

Women's Pool B: India lost 0-5 to Argentina.

SHOOTING:

Skeet: Mairaj Ahmad Khan failed to qualify for the semi-finals, eliminated in the shoot-off. He finished 9th.

25m rapid fire pistol: Gurpreet Singh failed to make the final after finishing seventh in the qualification round (292 points for a total of 581).

ROWING:

(Men’s single sculls): Dattu Baban Bhokanal finished 15th in the overall rankings. He was out of the medal reckoning.

TENNIS

(Mixed doubles): Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna lost to the United States' Venus Williams and Rajiv Ram 6-2, 2-6, 3-10 in the semi-finals.
