Australia beat Bahrain and South Korea swept past India as the two AFC heavyweights claimed Asian Cup quarter-final places on Tuesday.
Twice champions South Korea easily beat already eliminated India 4-1 at a wet Al Gharafa Stadium to finish second in Group C and set up a last eight meeting with Group D winners Iran while Australia recorded a 1-0 win over Bahrain at Al Sadd.
The results means Australia top Group C on seven points from three matches, ahead of South Korea on goal difference, with Bahrain third on three and India last without a point.
Bahrain started brightly as they looked for a win over Australia that would have taken them in to the last eight but they struggled to find a breakthrough once Mile Jedinak put the Socceroos in front in the 37th minute.
