The Indian hockey team arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday after winning a bronze in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at Ipoh in Malaysia.

An extremely delighted Captain Sardar Singh said the players have proved that the team can beat the world's best teams.

"In this tournament, our target was to play good hockey. We played extremely well against the high-ranking teams. Our players really performed well in the crucial matches and have proved that we can beat the world's best teams. Still, there are many things that we need to work upon," Sardar told ANI in New Delhi.

Paul van Ass, the chief coach, on his part said that winning against Australia was a job well done.

"The players performed on a good level. They surprised me against Australia, That was a job well done," he said.

India beat Korea 4-1 in the penalty shoot-out after both teams were locked 2-2 at regulation time to finish a creditable third in the 24th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament.
