With only a couple of weeks to go for the Australian Open tennis stars took to court Down Under.

However, the likes of Roger Federer, Victoria Azarenka, Radek Stepanek and Garbine Muguruza were seen in a lighter mood in Brisbane.

As part of Nickelodeon Kids Day the tennis stars, led by Federer, the 17-time Grand Slam winner, posed for pictures with the cartoon characters.

The ageless warrior Federer won six titles, in 11 finals, last year but failed to add to his tally of 17 Grand Slams, this despite reaching the finals of two majors - losing to arch-rival Novak Djokovic at both the Wimbledon and US Open.

The Swiss maestro, a winner of 88 titles on the ATP Tour, has stated that it would be amazing to win another major title but revealed that he wouldn't be frustrated if he fails to add to his existing tally.

Federer, who kickstarted his 2015 campaign by winning in Brisbane - that replaced Adelaide as an ATP Tour destination - is back to defend his title in Queensland.

After an injury filled 2014 and a sub-standard 2015 season, former World No.1 Victoria Azarenka has ended the season ranked outside the top-20 for a second straight year.

Since reaching the finals of the US Open in 2013, Azarenka has failed to reach the last 4 of a Grand Slam.

The two-time Australian Open winner, who has won titles in Sydney and Brisbane in the past, will look to get her campaign back on track in 2016.
