India's Leander Paes and his partner Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic were knocked out in the men's doubles quarter-finals of BMW Open by the Austrian-Brazilian combine of Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares in Munich, on Thursday.

Top seeds Peya and Soares notched up a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win in 54 minutes.

Peya and Soares completely dominated at the start as they saved three breakpoints before winning two breaks to storm through the first set where they won 25 of the 45 points played.

The script got even better for the top seeds as they took a game less to close the set and match in their favour.

With their win, Peya and Soares levelled their head-to-head to 2-2 against Paes-Stepanek. It was the first meeting between the two pairs on a clay court with the previous meetings coming on hard court.
