Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor put up a stiff resistance before losing the semi-final of the Aegon Championships to the team of Nenad Zimonjic and Marcin Matkowski in Birmingham.
The third-seeded Indo-Canadian pair lost the last-four match 3-6, 6-7(8) in one hour and 18 minutes to the second seed Serbian-Polish combination.
It was a tight contest, where even minor mistake cost the players heavy. Paes and Nestor did not any break chance in the opening set while their rivals capitalised on the only one offered by the third seeds.
The two pairs broke each other one time before Matkowski and Zimonjic prevailed in the tie-breaker.
Paes and Nestor won 180 ranking points each and split €23,990 between them.
