RB Salzburg's Erling Braut Haland became the first teenager to score a first-half hat-trick on his Champions League debut on Tuesday.

He made history during their opening group match, as Salzburg hammered Genk 6-2.

The 19-year-old had a record breaking night against Genk as he also became the eighth player in history to net three goals on his European debut. The last teenager to score a hat trick on their Champions League debut was Manchester United's Wayne Rooney against Fenerbahce in 2004.

Haaland opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game, sweeping home with his right foot after being played into the penalty area by Takumi Minamino.

Leeds-born Haland, who has enjoyed top form so far this season, has scored 17 goals from 9 matches, including four hat-tricks

Haaland doubled his tally in the 34th minute with a one-on-one finish, before notching up his hat-trick with a close-range finish before the break.

Leeds-born Haland, who has enjoyed top form so far this season, has scored 17 goals from 9 matches, including four hat-tricks.

Haland is the son of Alf-Inge Haaland, who spent a decade playing club football in England for Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Manchester City.

Earlier this summer, Haland netted 9 goals for Norway in a match against Honduras -- Norway had won 12-0 -- at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Poland.

According to reports, Haland was coached by Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is expected to move to England in the future.
