Richa Mishra rewrote two of her national records as she won three gold medals, while Olympics qualifier Sandeep Sejwal set another national record on the second day of the 65th Senior National Aquatics Championships in Ranchi on Thursday.

After erasing her 2007 record of 09:25:57s by clocking 09:06:31s in the women's 800 metres freestyle, Richa went on to win the gold in the 400 metres individual medley, clocking 05:05:17s.

Representing the Police team, she also had a charge at Karnataka's Nisha Millet record of 02:07:92s, set in 2003, in the 200 metres freestyle, obliterating with a time of 02:07:29s.

RSPB's Sandeep Sejwal, who set a national record in the 200 metres breaststroke, broke the men's 50 metre breaststroke record with a time of 00:28:35s, improving upon his previous best of 00:28:93s to win the gold.

Karnataka's Rehan Poncha added another gold medal to his kitty, winning the men's 400 metre individual medley with a timing of 04:35:59s, well short of his own record of 04:30:13s, set in 2009.

In the women's 50 metre breaststroke, Tamil Nadu's A V Jayaveena broke compatriot Saba Sait's 2004 record of 00:35:63s, clocking 00:35:48s.

Karnataka's Aaron Agnel D'Souza also had a strong showing in the pool, setting a new national record in the men's 200 metres freestyle with a timing of 01:51:38s; he erased his 2009 record of 01:53:36s.
