The 2010 CWG bronze medallist Monika Devi was the best placed Indian so far at the ongoing Senior Asian Weightlifting Championships with a sixth place finish but an Olympic quota remains elusive for the country.

A 15-member Indian team, including seven women, are competing in the Championship in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

Competing in women 69kg category, Monika lifted 98kg in snatch and 117kg in Clean and Jerk for a total of 215 kg, which could fetch her only a sixth place.

Sathish Kumar (77kg) was next best Indian in the competition as he managed eighth position in his category by lifted a total of 304kgs. He lifted 139 kgs in snatch and 165 kg in Clean and Jerk.
