Jeev finishes 24th, Rock wins HSBC Golf Championships

India's senior golfer Jeev Milkha Singh had a good weekend with rounds of five-under 67 and one-under 71 to finish tied 24th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Jeev, who shot six birdies and one bogey in his third round, had three birdies and two bogeys in the fourth and final round.

SSP Chowrasia, who has been struggling, had one of his best rounds since his win at the Avantha Masters last year with a four-under 68 that saw him finish at tied 56th.

Meanwhile, Robert Rock held off 14-time Major winner Tiger Woods and US Open Champion Rory McIlroy to claim a sensational victory.

With only one win in his previous 226 European Tour events and 117th in the Official World Golf Ranking, the 34-year-old overcame a last-hole drama to defeat McIlroy by one and Woods, Graeme McDowell and Thomas Bjorn by two.

Rock was two ahead on the tee at the par five 18th, but pushed his drive into the hazard on the right in amongst rocks and plants.

He chose to take a penalty drop knowing that a six would be good enough unless Woods eagled and, with the American failing to pitch in after going in the rough, a two-putt bogey did indeed complete the greatest day of his 14-year professional career.

McIlroy birdied the last for a 69 to be runner-up for the second year running, but after three impressive rounds Woods was all over the show -- hitting only six greens in regulation and only some fantastic scrambling securing a 72.
