Manchester City moved closer to signing Everton and England defender Joleon Lescott on Sunday after the Premier League clubs reached an agreement.
"Manchester City can confirm that agreement has been reached with Everton for the transfer of Joleon Lescott," City said on their website (www.mcfc.co.uk).
"The move is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and passing a medical."
Lescott handed in a transfer request after two attempts by City to sign him were rejected by Everton.
Everton manager David Moyes has said previously Lescott's attitude over his desire to leave had damaged team spirit.
"The situation means we have to sell him," Moyes told The People newspaper earlier on Sunday.
