Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has stated that ‘it would be almost boring’ to see Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo winning the prestigious Ballon d'Or award yet again.

The Real Madrid star and Lionel Messi have won for last 6 seasons between them and it annoys Muller.

"If it were to happen that Cristiano Ronaldo wins, then it would be almost boring," the 25-year-old midfielder said.

‘Maybe it would be an idea to reconsider the whole award and just send the title by post, Muller added.

Muller believes individual titles are not so important to him as he sees himself as a team player. According to him, Neuer is a world champion and has been in sensational form. He further said that apart from the usual winners, other players like Arjen Robben and a few others from Germany would have deserved to win equally, the Mirror reported.

Should World Cup 2014-winning goalkeeper Neuer win, he would become the first in his position to lift the prize - and Muller says it is time for such a change.

While Portugal international Ronaldo will be defending the award after winning it last year, Messi, on the other hand, will be aiming to win the honour for the fifth time.

Ronaldo scored 51 goals in the 2013-14 season, with helping Real Madrid to win the Champions League. Whereas, Messi has become the leading La Liga goal scorer last month, with also holding the Champions League goal scoring record.
