Indian fencers clinch 15 medals at international meet

Indian fencers produced their best ever performance and clinched a total of 15 medals, including two gold, in the International Thailand Fencing Championship at Pattaya.

Reorita Devi bagged a gold in Epee Individual category and then teamed up with Kabita Devi, Dilna and Ambily to win the women's Epee Team event.

The Indian contingent also won four silver and nine bronze medals in the competition, participated by fencers from 12 countries.

KP Gishonidhi and Kabita won silver in Sabre Individual and Epee Individual sections respectively. Other two silvers came in team events - men's Epee and women's Foil.

Indian individual bronze medallists were Surendero Singh (Sabre), Vikram Jamwal (Sabre), Dilna (Epee), Ambily (Epee), Ressha Puthessery (Sabre) and Ajinkya Dhudhare (Epee).

Indian men's Sabre Team won two bronze medals while another bronze came in men's Foil Team event.
