Mohun Bagan's winless streak stretched to four matches as Sporting Clube de Goa rode on a Boima Karpeh double for a 2-1 win in the I-League at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday.

The Liberian-Australian recruit, who was with Pune FC last season, scored in the 17th and 78th minutes, while Mohun Bagan struck in the 84th minute through a Eric Muranda penalty.

Once again, Mohun Bagan sorely missed the services of Nigerian ace Odafa Okolie who is recovering from an injury.

Mohun Bagan squandered two chances early into the start with C S Sabeeth and Muranda failing to score.

Sporting Clube took the lead in first chance they got when Boima deceived Aiborland Khongjee to fire home.

Boima scored his second goal after getting a through ball from substitute Dawson Fernandes and then beat Wahid Sali before tapping the ball in.

In the 84th minute, Ram Malik's cross hit Mathew Gonsalves’s hand inside the box as referee pointed to the spot and Muranda converted to score the solitary goal for Mohun Bagan.

Lajong FC hold United SC to 1-1 draw

Following a back-to-back defeat at home, Shillong Lajong FC staged a comeback to hold UnitedSC 1–1 in their fifth round I-League encounter at the J N Stadium in Shillong on Saturday.

Lajong players created several scoring chances against their opponents but they could not finish it off on most occasions.

The home side, who dominated the match, failed to convert at least three clear opportunities in a slow first half itself. Ornell Glen and Tuboi missed a couple of opportunities that could have changed the complexion of the game.

United's Eric Browne converted the first goal of the match in the 49th minute when Lajong's main defenders -- Wailadmi and Minchol Son -- were caught napping.

United skipper Deepak Kumar collected a miss from Son and sent a cross to Browne who converted it with an ease. Two minutes later, Ornell Glen headed an equalizer for Lajong.

Glen showed his class. His shot from just outside the box in the 63rd minute and a header five minutes later had the United SC keeper busy.

Lajong could have taken home three points had Tuboi not found in an off-side position when he converted a short cross from Glen from outside the box in the 87th minute.

Both sides brought in all the three substitutes in the remaining 25 minutes as both seek to take the lead.

Lajong coach Thangboi Singto significantly replaced Glen with Subash Singh to give added pressure to United.
