Men’s Triple Jump: Renjith Maheshwary failed to make it to the final after finishing 30th overall out of 48 competitors in qualification with a best effort of 16.13 metres.

Women’s 200 metres: Sarabani Nanda finished sixth out of eight competitors in Heat 5 with a timing of 23.58 seconds. She was 55th overall out of 72 competitors.

Women's Steeplechase Final: Lalita Babar finished 10th with a timing of 9:22.74 seconds.

BADMINTON:

Men's Singles Pre-quarters: Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jan Jorgensen 21-19, 21-19. Will meet two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan on Tuesday.

Women's Singles Pre-quarters: P V Sindhu bt Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei 21-13, 21-15.

BOXING:

Men's 75 kg Quarters: Vikas Krishan lost to Uzbekistan’s Bektemir Melikuziev by a unanimous 0-3 verdict.

DISCUS THROW: Seema Punia failed to qualify for the final after finishing 20th.

WRESTLING:

Men's Greco-Roman 85 kg Qualification: Ravinder Khatri lost to Viktor Lorincz of Hungary 0-9.
