The Delhi Police, on Sunday, claimed that they are yet to receive the relevant documents relating to the case forwarded by Hockey India (HI) against former woman's hockey coach MK Kaushik.

HI had referred the alleged complaint of player Ranjita Devi against Kaushik to Delhi police chief Y S Dadwal on Saturday, demanding the police register an FIR against the former coach considering the seriousness of the charges made.

"We have yet to receive the relevant documents along with the forwarding letter by Hockey India written to the Delhi police commissioner," Rajan Bhagat, PRO Delhi police told rediff.com.

Asked if the Delhi Police would make a preliminary inquiry of its own before registering the case, Bhagat said a decision would be taken only once the documents arrived.

Narendra Batra, interim secretary general of Hockey India said that "the complaint (made by Ranjita) has been forwarded to the Delhi Police for investigation as it was highly credible with specific charges".

However, former president of IHF, KPS Gill said he was not satisfied with Hockey India as they showed no urgency in nailing the situation.

"Where is the question of being satisfied? A woman player had written to the interim secretary general about sexual harassment by her coach in all innocence and they sat over the complaint for more than twenty days.

"I think this matter should also be investigated. I feel he had a motive behind delaying action. He is also culpable for his action. What Hockey India are you talking about? It should be called Hoax India Federation," the former director general of Punjab police said harshly.
