In the latest alcohol-related problem to hit troubled England football legend Paul Gascoigne, he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly on Wednesday.
According to reports, Gascoigne was taken into custody following a late night disturbance in a residential part of his native Newcastle, England.
The former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, who has faced a long battle with booze, was arrested at around 2:15 a.m. in the Jesmond area of Newcastle.
He was later taken to a police station before receiving a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly, The Sun reported.
The police spokeswoman could not confirm how much the notice was for, but fines are set at £50 and £80 depending on the seriousness of the offence.
Gascoigne has struggled with alcoholism and depression since retiring from the game, and has undergone treatment for bulimia and obsessive compulsive disorder. He has also been involved in a much-publicized row with his ex-wife.
