Amelie Mauresmo again cracked under pressure at the French Open when gifted newcomer Ana Ivanovic of Serbia and Montenegro beat her 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in a third-round match on Saturday.

World number three Mauresmo, who has never got past the quarter-finals at her home event, started nervously but gave the impression she would recover, fighting back from 3-1 down to take the second set.

The Frenchwoman, who was let down by her usually reliable serve, was broken again in the fourth game of the decisive set.

The 17-year-old Ivanovic, who won her first title this year in Canberra, kept her composure before a partisan crowd until Mauresmo bowed out with a double fault on the first match point.
