World number 19 Zvonareva, who reached the quarter-finals at Roland Garros in 2003, will be replaced in

the main draw by Ukraine's Yulia Beygelzimer.

In the men's draw, Belgian Xavier Malisse has pulled out, also with a wrist injury, while Spaniard Alberto Martin has ruled himself out because of an elbow injury.
