Tennis legend Serena Williams and boyfriend Alexis Ohanian exchanged wedding vows at a private ceremony in New Orleans on Thursday.
Vogue magazine, who were given exclusive rights to the photographs of the ‘wedding of the year’, put out some pictures from the Beauty and the Beast-themed wedding on their Instagram page.
But more than anything, what warmed our hearts was the lovely post written by the groom to his bride.
Alexis couldn’t stop gushing about wife Serena and his post alongside his picture of them kissing, just made our day.
In his post Alexis wrote: @serenawilliams: “You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport – I’m talking about as a mother and a wife.
“I’m so excited to write so many chapters of our fairy tale together. And my whole life I didn’t even realise it but I was waiting for this moment. And everything that I have done, and everything I am so proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we’re doing today.
And I am so grateful, and I am so in love <3.”
Serena and Alexis, co-founder of Reddit, got engaged last December and became parents to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. on September 1.
The couple married at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans in a Beauty and the Beast-themed ceremony.
Family and friends who attended the do included sister Venus Williams, R&B singer Beyonce, singer Ciara, NBA star Carmelo Anthony’s wife La La Anthony and singer Kelly Rowland.
