Expressing solidarity with the people of Paris in the wake of devastating terrorist attacks, the Premier League has said that a choral version of La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, will be played before all of this weekend's matches.

Confirming the news, Premier League's executive chairman, Richard Scudamore said that playing La Marseillaise as an act of solidarity and remembrance is the right thing to do considering the long-standing relationship with France, the Guardian reported.

France is the Premier League's second-most-represented nation after England with 72 registered players.

Welcoming the move, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that it was a nice gesture of solidarity.

At least 129 innocent people have lost their life in a string of deadly attacks that rocked the French capital on last Friday.
