"Beleaguered" Moyes appeals to United fans for support

Manchester United boss David Moyes has reportedly written a letter to United's fans asking for a show of support from them following United's poor performance this season.

The under-fire Scot has written an impassioned appeal to fans in a letter entitled “A word from the boss” and admitted that he also had not foreseen the current state of the club, the report added.

According to the Metro.co.uk, Moyes has said in his letter that although he knew that “this job” would be a “challenge”, but he had not envisaged the difficult season they have experienced so far, which he is sure is the case with United's fans as well. 

Federico Macheda has reportedly revealed that he intends to leave Manchester United at the end of this season but says that nobody can take “the memories of his time” at the club.

Macheda was reportedly rewarded a four-year contract by former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson when the Italian striker scored a superb stoppage-time winner in a 3-2 victory at home to Aston Villa in 2009's Premier League.

According to Sport24, Macheda's four-year contract with United ends this season, though he has spent most of the last three years on loan playing for Sampdoria, Queens Park Rangers, Stuttgart, Doncaster Rovers and joined second-tier Birmingham City in January, where he scored three goals in his first six games for the club.

Macheda said that he would miss his stay at United, as Ferguson believed in him so much, the report added. Macheda also added that getting a text from Ferguson after he scored two goals against Charlton last month was “incredible” as Ferguson had not spoken to him in a long time and the text came as a relief for Macheda. 

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly ignited speculations that AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli will join his squad this summer.

Arsenal too are keen on signing Balotelli, but Chelsea are believed to be at the head of the queue.

According to Metro.co.uk, Mourinho said that the future is unpredictable in football and although Balotelli is with a big club at the moment, but nobody ''knows the future''.

Mourinho, who has worked before with Balotelli at Inter Milan, further added that Milan wants to keep the best Italian players, but Balotelli has already been in English football before and he is a “good kid”. Balotelli, who is reportedly unhappy with life in Italy and prefers a return to the Premier League, is likely to cost Chelsea in excess of £40 million.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has reportedly insisted that the club still has a great chance of winning something despite Arsenal slipping down to third rank following a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City last week.

Arsenal topped the Premier League table for most of the season, but won just three in their last eight games.

According to the Daily Star, Bendtner said that people are quick to make judgment like playing one bad game and the club loses everything,as people fear that the club's season will unravel again at this stage due to an untimely dip in form.

Bendtner also said that Arsenal won 4-1 against Sunderland and they usually have a strong finish to the season, adding that if they continue with they have a great chance of winning something, the report added.

Arsenal has a mountain to climb to overturn a 2-0 Champions League deficit against Bayern Munich next week as they face Everton in the FA Cup last eight, the report added.
