New Manchester United boss David Moyes is planning to spend £80 million to make sure the Old Trafford giants hold on to their title.
According to The Daily Star, Moyes hopes to finally end his summer-long chase for Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas with a whopping £40 million swoop and the former Everton boss will return to his old club to snap up left-back Leighton Baines for £18 million and trigger Marouane Fellaini's £22 million release clause.
Clinching Cesc Fabregas is still Moyes' top priority and De Gea is doing everything in his power to persuade the Barcelona superstar to return to England after his highly successful spell with Arsenal, the report said.
The United keeper tried to convince Spanish Under-21s teammate Thiago Alcantara to switch from the Nou Camp to Old Trafford but failed, the report added.
